Azelaic Acid: Azelaic acid has primarily been used to treat acne and rosacea. It can reduce inflammation and bacteria while also reducing pigmentation.
Hydroquinone: This is the primary ingredient in most lightening creams. It is effective on its own but can be enhanced by other ingredients.
Kojic Acid: A skin lightening agent that is produced from fungi (with the Japanese name koji).
Tretinoin: Also called topical retinoid, this ingredient is a derivative of vitamin A.
