Tranexamic Acid Solution
Formulation: Tranexamic acid 4.8% solution for oral use.
Used to prevent and control bleeding, tranexamic acid is useful for many oral surgical procedures.
Description: Tranexamic acid solution can be used before or after an oral surgical procedure. It can prevent and control bleeding, especially in patients with bleeding disorders.
Preventing bleeding during a procedure: The solution is swished in the mouth for about 2 minutes, a half hour before a procedure.
Controlling bleeding after a procedure: After a procedure, the rinse can be used similarly every few hours to reduce bleeding.
Many dentists perform surgeries on patients who are taking anticoagulants. An antifibrinolytic that can be applied locally is useful in many situations. It can reduce bleeding while having fewer systemic effects than an oral tablet.
