The treatment has high patient satisfaction ratings due to the fast treatment time.
Fluorouracil and Salicylic Acid for Warts
Fluorouracil’s ability to inhibit cell growth is what makes it effective for many dermatological applications. Fluorouracil inhibits the cell growth of warts, and its effects are significantly enhanced when combined with salicylic acid. Salicylic acid is a keratolytic and works to remove the top layer of skin so that the fluorouracil can be more effective. This combination has been shown to be effective at treating multiple skin conditions including actinic keratosis in the form of a cream.
Warts are a difficult to treat skin condition, and most treatments have a low cure rate. They can be an uncomfortable and unsightly problem that patients often feel hopeless about treating. A Wartex topical peel can effectively treat warts quickly and result in high patient satisfaction after treatment.
Application of Wartex
This wart treatment is applied with an applicator brush that is supplied with each prescription. The peel must be allowed to dry 5-10 minutes, after which the wart is covered with tape. After drying, the active ingredients are allowed to work. It is important for patients to follow the provided instructions carefully to prevent any irritation. For more severe cases where there are large areas of warts, this treatment may be more effective if supervised by a healthcare provider.
